Brad, just checking in. About 6 months ago, I finally began building a 750 STOL kit. It's been a bit of a slow start, but I'm having fun. Not as much fun as flying around the Yarmouth Basin, though. Love the pictures. Hope all is well.
Thanks for the reply Brad. I live just across lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans (northshore), my ancestors were part of the expulsion from your area, Acadia, but went to France for a few years, then settled around Lafayette, La (St. Martinville) . On building, I cant believe how fun it is to build this plane, my first attempt was a Biplane in the early nineties, not so much fun, very labor intensive, I did not finish it due to life getting in the way. Your photography is spectacular. I like the views of the float planes sitting on the smooth water. I am putting the viking engine in my plane and depending on finances, could possibly finish by the end of the year. Maybe I'll eventually put on floats?? As you know, we have plenty of water around here.
Hi Brad,
I'm still in the building process of my CH750. The picture that you see on my profile is a Photoshop mock-up that I made to give me an idea of what a 750 on floats would look like with a Radial engine.It's a Rotec radial 7 cylinder 110hp with LOTS of torque -:) 3 blades/68" diameter. The engine with all acessories is 220lbs, similar to the Continental O-200. I will have to install it closer to the firewall an dthe empty weight should be close to what the O-200's are. I could also use their 9 cylinders 150HP and 270lbs install weight but that is not necessary really.
I am scratch building my 750 and I'm on the wings right now. Slow process as work keeps getting in the way...lol
The interesting part will be to design and fabricate the round cowling. Nothing an english wheel couldn't do. I need to practice and learn new techniques.
I've been to the sherbrooke fly-in as well this year. Pointe-Claire is a suburb west of Montreal and 1.5 hrs from Sherbrooke.
I love all of your pictures...I can't wait to take some of my own plane on lakes and rivers...LOL

One of my plans is to visit my sister who lives in Halifax and cottages an hour south. I will try to do an adventure flight around Nova Scotia. Your photos are a good selling point for the trip.
