Have any of you completed this SB to add this bypass between the fuel supply and return lines?  It applies to my 350iS and most older UL engines with serial numbers below 191401. It's not…Continue

Typical Amps Reading in 350iS

I was getting a lot of variance in my voltage and amps. I changed the regulator out with a much more robust unit with a far better wiring harness set up. Also replaced a 5 year old battery. Upon a…Continue

SB 2019-02 for the Bypass

Have any of you completed this SB to add this bypass between the fuel supply and return lines?  It applies to my 350iS and most older UL engines with serial numbers below 191401. It's not mandatory. The purpose as I understand it, is to make an engine restart easier in the event of an engine failure in flight caused by air in the system, unporting one of the tanks fuel feeds, or running a tank dry.I'm trying to get an idea of how difficult this modification is to install and are the benefits…See More

Typical Amps Reading in 350iS

I was getting a lot of variance in my voltage and amps. I changed the regulator out with a much more robust unit with a far better wiring harness set up. Also replaced a 5 year old battery. Upon a ground test I was seeing better voltage in the 12.5 to 13.1 range but still not the expected 14v. And the amps were still jumping around and often showing a negative 4 to 14 which is so odd. When we built the plane 9 years ago we put in a B&C over voltage unit. I have always felt that was a mistake…See More

Dynon Update 16.0.3

Just noticed that this release of Dynon's software says it now has support for EMS configuration for 4 cyl UL engines. Anyone tried this and is there any new info that you can now see via the EMS? I'm going to install it this week and hoping that I can now be able to see MAP since I installed the MAP sensor during the build and have never used it!See More

Erratic CHT Reading

I wasn't sure where to post this.I have a UL 350iS with a Dynon Skyview system with the Dynon EMS in a CH650B. It's all been working fine for 450 hrs but now I'm getting an erratic CHT reading on #4. It usually resolves itself within 10 min of take off but before that I'm seeing readings that jump all over the place from minus 150 degrees to plus 200 and sometimes it reads zero and the CHT label for #4 is x'd out on the screen as if it wasn't there at all. All other CHT's from the other…See More

350iS Oil Temps

Just finished my annual inspection with 400 hrs on the 350iS. With minor exceptions the engine has been awesome so far. Compression's are all high 70's, oil usage is less than 1/2 qt in 50 hours. Every couple years one of the valves needs a minor tweak. No leaks, starts great. No complaints!Just curious...what kind of oil temps are other 350iS users seeing. I typically run between 186 and 210. The 210 is rare on only after a climb in the dead of summer. I'd say my average is about 190. Those…See More

Ah yes - going to be an interesting journey!  Sold my Kitfox 5 last week and looking forward to getting the kit shipped and getting to work.  I may take you up on your offer to see how the cockpit fits related to the rudder pedal location. Beefed up seat cushioning may be a simpler solution.  I actually went to Lake Ridge and took about two dozen pictures of your aircraft just to get an idea of how some things went together.  For instance, the aileron on your a/c is hinged whereas the 610 uses a non-hinged aileron.  I have a lot to learn.

Hi David

Hope you don't mind that your thread on Jab vs UL has been hijacked to be a grill-UL session but I think it's all good information as long as Robert will step up to the plate and answer questions. Hopefully Jab will also respond.
