750 Strut Fairing

Started Jun 1, 2023 0 Replies

I have turned my 750 STOL in to sort of a hybrid.  I removed the LE slats some time ago in order to see a bigger number on the A/S indicator and at my age I'm not landing on 400 ft. gravel bars -…Continue

This sort of relates to my 750 completion.  I purchased an Icom A210 at OSH for two reasons - there was a special discount on the price and it has a built in intercom.  I have an intercom in my C-120…Continue

750 Strut Fairing

I have turned my 750 STOL in to sort of a hybrid.  I removed the LE slats some time ago in order to see a bigger number on the A/S indicator and at my age I'm not landing on 400 ft. gravel bars - might have 50 years ago!  I inquired of Roger a while back if the 'Speed Fairings' for the Cruzer would be available for the 750 and he replied they're working on it.In the meantime, I decided to fabricate strut fairings for the rear upper strut attach area which I consider the 2nd worst aerodynamic…See More

Fuel Sender Access Covers

When I purchased the incomplete 750 project from the original owner/builder 7 years ago, he had already installed the fuel tank senders.  As most know, they are '68-77 VW tank senders and the quality is not that great.  If they weren't already installed, I'd have gone a different route but had to live with what I had.  Knowing they might some day have to be replaced, I riveted in the steel retaining ring so I didn't have to deal with it falling in to the tank.  Fortunately, early on I…See More

Dorsal Fin

Posted on June 2, 2013 at 1:53pm 0 Comments

Trimmed and fitted forward dorsal piece to LE of horiz. stab.  For those that have done this, you know it takes a lot of small trimming and fitting.  The real artsy exercise is the aft piece which I have now completed.  It took considerably longer.  I plan on attaching these with nutplates and rivnuts instead of riveting.

Acquired 750 project.

Well I'll try again since I submitted about 6 hours ago and all that went thru were the photos.  A liability of growing up on vacuum tubes and trying to master the computer age.  I acquired Ken Ryan's 750 project and yesterday brought the wings home here to the Wasilla area from Ken's place in Anchorage.  A lot of you have interacted with Ken over the last few years and I will have to say he did a fine job of building.  This won't be the first airplane I've built or rebuilt over the years…

Hi Norm,

This is what I found when I researched the VIN number on your Viking 110:

Vehicle Information:
2009 HONDA FIT SPORT
VIN: JHMGE88409S031741
HATCHBACK 4 DR
1.5L L4 MPI SOHC 16V
GASOLINE
FRONT WHEEL DRIVE

The car was purchased as a POV in April of 2009 from Lee's Summit Honda in Lees Summit, MO. The car's title number by Missouri Motor Vehicle Dept in Kansas City, MO was #THD02734. The car was owned for about a year and driven 15 thousand miles until it was involved in an accident on April 29, 2010 resulting in a reported severe damage requiring tow. The accident was with another motor vehicle in which the car's rear was impacted. The airbags did not deploy. On July 15, 2010 the car was at automotive recycler facility where it parts were offered for sale.

At this point the lan is to fly down; however in July I will be in Anchorage for three days for my FAA recert training ... we could plan a visit then since I'll be driving down for that.
