Okay. I'm going for it. Hooray! First snag. How do I safely get that big box from truck-bed level to ground level in my driveway? Continue

A good word well deserved

October 28, 2016.

Now it can be told. On August 4, 2016, the $23,000 plywood crate containing my CH-750 kit arrived looking like this:

Crate on arrival.JPG Mis-weighed .jpg

FedEx had “reweighed” the 877 pound crate as 415 pounds, and then loaded 450 pounds of freight on top of a box clearly marked FRAGILE in letters six inches high.  I didn’t take the end off this crate; this is…

August -- In the beginning...

In August 1986, in tiny Stanley, Nova Scotia, I bought a ride around the patch in a 2-place canoe with wings. For 30 years, I studied "Low & Slow" -- the laws, the flaws, the struggles to make it grow. I watched it blossom and evolve, and blossom again. And after I retired, I made a decision, 'pulled the trigger', and bought a kit. In August 2016, a Zenith CH-750 STOL kit arrived outside my single car garage in suburban New York. And now, the journey begins. :-)

Rich,

I found building a 701 very rewarding and challenging. The past year flying her for about

80hrs has been one of the funnest times in my life. I really like the 750 and think it would

be a great airplane to build. I was trying to talk Scott into building one.

Zenith is a wonderful company and their support is incredible. They have always been there for help over the years.

I would go to the rudder build seminar at the factory to see if its for you and as a great way to start the adventure. I built my rudder at the factory for $300 and left it there. I ordered a complete kit and all the options 3 months later.

My 701 is everything I expected it to be flying. I have taken up about 25 people on rides and all have loved it. It is especially fun taking the doors off and flying. Come on out to the hangar one day and see for yourself.
