701 Rudder Build

Ok, I know that I’m going to be slammed for not paying close attention to my plans and drawings but I have a question about the bottom front rib on my 701 rudder.i purchased the entire SCRATCH built rudder from someone who had it complete and held together with Clecos. The only thing left was primer/seal and rivet. I did go over everything checking my plans and manual prior to riveting and all looked perfect. Well I missed seeing the step for checking that the bottom leading rib was 90 degrees…See More

Zenith’s Website

Does anyone know when the new website and online store will be done? I have been wanting to order some pieces and parts for sometime. I know I could make a list and call it in but that’s not the point. I want to be able to just jump online open the individual parts and pieces tab, which no longer exists for the 701, and simply click on what I want and checkout.Just wondering if I’ve missed a notice somewhere or just me trying to do everything on my phone?See More

Rivet gun trigger pulls

Just purchased a lower dollar rivet gun from Jeggs Automotive that looks a lot like the Harbor Freight one. Before modifying the heads I thought I would test it and verify it’s operation. Using some scrap sheet for testing I am having to pull the trigger 3 or 4 times before the rivet sets. Is this an adjustment that I’m missing?

Rust on Clecos

Just purchased 50 1/8” Clecos that were advertised as new old stock. Well most of them have rust on them. Not too bad but I am wondering if they are ok to use? Or if I clean them with a liquid cleaner and wipe them down good if there are any recommendations on a cleaner that will not harm the 6061?

L angle

Ok, plans call for rear fuselage L channel to be 20mmx20mm, by my calculations 20mm comes out to be .78 inches(rounded off) so the question is can I use 3/4” (.75) or do I step up to 1”?

Let the dream begin!

Just received my 701 plans and manual.
Due to funds, and the fact that my wife's horses eat most of them, my plan is to scratch build as much as possible.
So, if anyone has any leftovers like rivets, clecos or anything for a 701 that they can sell please let me know. I'll either be in the shop looking at plans and scratching my head, or, in the barn shoveling horse byproducts.
