Dear Mike, Originally I had intended to fly without them however, while talking to the engineer at Zenith during hangar days he suggested since I have the old short tail that I put them on right away and I took his advice. I have found during my 9 year association with Zenith that following the suggestion made have always been in my best interest so I pay attention to what they have to say. Also while flying the factory 801 I found the control to be better. I hope this answers you question.

I would be curious what you think after you have had a chance to get them positioned. I purchased them as well, but was told to fly around a bit before installing them.
