Today is my 65th birthday, and look what I just got.

A few months ago I purchased and delivered to a buddy of mine, a set of rough cut aluminum block's in a cylinder shape to make up a set of flanging dies. Well this morning I got a call to go over and pick up the finished pieces. However, when he learned that it was my birthday today, he would not accept any compensation for the labour, and offered them to me as a gift. Talk about a good buddy.

Here is a photo of the completed dies.

I'm having a lot of fun, but since I am also building a 750 at the same time as my 701, and that the 750 uses four sizes, I will need another die like those above in a different size. :o)

Very nice flanging dies. I have a set built of solid oak.
Keep us posted of your progress, and have fun building!!

That is correct, I have started the 701 about six months ago. I have also placed the VERY FIRST RETAIL order for a set of plans for the 750. I spoke to Caleb about two weeks ago, and he said the 750 plans should be going out late January, or the first weeks of February. I am patiently awaiting their arrival, and have built both rudders ( cherck rudder album ) already.
