Go Kart wheels work well for these 701s both on grass and paved runway. These plus slats off for wings (as in the first picture) and spring coil in place of door strut contribute to more economic in-flight fuel consumption.

Joe,

Don't forget to upgrade the door lock on the forward edge. If not fit tight and locked, bubble doors tend to get sucked out.

Thanks Champ. Knowing that it could be a door spring is a help; something that is about 2 cm also helps me look. We do have Home Depot here plus our own local hardware stores. I will go see what I can find. I think I can estimate what will work or not work when I see the correct spring. Thanks again.

If you have Home Depot, Lowes, or the like in your locality, you should be able to get the spring you want.

Joe,

Joe, Had we lived closer to each other, I could offer you door strut kits. ;^)
You should check with local hardware store (for a small and long door spring, may be?). In Bangkok, there are a few places we can go browse for springs, or we can place an order for a particular shape and size. Beside the spring, you need to machine the end piece to connect to door or fuselage also. Too soft a spring will not keep the door open. Too strong a spring will give trouble on (bending it and) closing the door. 2 cm diameter coil looks good.

Champ, I like the idea of the coil spring for the door prop. Where could I find one? Thanks, Joe
