Looking to buy a Dynon GPS-251 for my Dynon EFIS-D100

Dynon stated that the GPS-251 antenna would provided GPS steering for my EFIS D100 autopilot, Autopilot works good on heading steer but what it to track GPS heading

Why? The 251 will give a backup for pitot-static failure but no navigation function. Recommend wiring in gps that can drive the HSI function.
I had a D10a in my 601 wired to a G430W. Worked great. Removed the D10a when I sold the 601. I installed it in a Mooney with the EAA STC hence had to put in the 251. Does nothing for navigation yet STC prevents hooking it up to G430.
