Hi Bill

A bit of a late reply 

The Australian Demo CH 750 is 912S powered 

Weight is  354 Kg (778 lbs)

Cruise speed is 75knts (5000rpm) with a wooden prop  Dia 70"  pitch 60"  

Very happy with the plane and engine

Mike, Ours weighed right at 780 lb, painted and using the Rotax intake box. Used some really good digital scales. I believe others with the 912S were right at the 770 lb. range.

Ken,

Yes, the spendy air box is in place, went with that because we wanted to have cool air from outside the cowling for the carbs,and also carb heat. If you use the Rotax air intake you will have to modify the one scat hose connection by adding a 45 to clear the left engine tube coming down from the center. I can sent a picture if you like.

Bill, I'll add my name to the list of "not quite there yet."  The engine is in place, exhaust and cooling system complete, oil hoses under construction and electrical system after that.  A question for you:  are you planning the spendy air box to get the 100 HP?

Hi Bill.   I have bought my Rotax 912ULS2.    Engine mount in place and ready to install but unfortunately I have to go to Fiji for a few months so it will be May until she is ready to fly.

I did not mean any disrespect, nor was it my intention to criticize those who have chosen, or can afford the Rotax.  I was merely stating the fact that often it's not only a question of choice, but rather it becomes a monetary decision.

Robert,
I admire anyone who builds from scratch,for what ever the reasons may be. I am sure the needed skills and deication are greater. As it seems there are many Jab 3300 users out there I was just currious as to how many Rotax 912s were in action. My one comment was to any one allready concidering the Rotax I feel that they would not be disapointed.
