Decided to try a naca inlet for the oil cooler. I will keep a close eye on oil temps as I move into testing.
This naca was bought off amazon, made by "Butler", with 3 inch outlet. $19.99
Makes for a neat installation. Cowl is still removable with ease.

Ray,
The hinge pins are inserted from the rear of the cowl. I bent a "U" in the end to ensure it is captured once installed.
This is the method recommended by Viking. Check their 701 and 750 pages for more detail.
I used standard AD rivets because I was concerned about the fragility of the fiberglass, and countersunk rivets pulling through. Also, I am trying to build in a bit of durability, and frankly, I do not believe this will make much difference on a SkyJeep :)
Thanks for the kind words. I welcome a visit from you with great enthusiasm. Kinston airport is 20 min by car. I will come pick you up.

Damn good idea Steve! Let me know how it works out for you.
