My son told me about the software Dashware, so I decided to check it out. Seems to work as advertised. I wished I had known about it during my test flight ph...

Yvan,  I used a GoPro camera for the video.  Dashware joins the video to a GPS file.  My handheld GPS (Bendix-King AV8OR)  saves a log while during the flight.  So basically you have to a video and a GPS log file that use Dashware to synchronize the GPS file and the video.  Dashware recognizes several a lot of different log file formats. It recognizes the file format used by Garmin.  My GPS saves a *.nmea file format. The software allows you to design the instruments also.  It is a very popular software with race car drivers and bicycle racers in the States.

Bob, when I was doing the slow flight, I was monitoring a frequency that all the training schools use to broadcast their position, altitude, direction of flight, etc.  It covers an area from Phoenix to 20 miles due south of Phoenix and is quite crowded.  We had 2 mid airs last year in this area.  No one hurt!!!

At Casa Grande the flight schools use the ILS approach there to practice their approaches.  Since CGZ doesn't have a control tower, they can do it without talking to ATC.  The frequency can really get busy and make it really difficult for the VFR pilots to get into the airport.  It really gets fun when they are using the ILS to runway 5 and the GPS approach to runway 23 at the same time.

Another great video, Jerry.  I really like the Dashware addition.

Its real "busy" where you fly. I have to fly at least an hour to get that much traffic in the air.

Jerry that is a really cool piece of kit.
