Terry Latino's first flight: "I know the landing could have been better, but that was the first time I flew a Zodiac and a cross wind as well. Well, that's all the excuses I have. I am so loving it." http://ning.it/13R6pB8

Jerry,
What a great day! Your landing looked better than mine, when my engine quit on final.

WOW! Nice! You get to fly airplains and drive big boats. Life is good! I'm only weeks away from motor buying time. I am going with a 0-235L2C. Very much like your 0-290. Can you give me some sort of idea what to expect for an "empty weight" number? Did you register LS or Experimental Amateur Built?
I hope when I complete my 601XL B that I do that well on the first flight!
Well done Terry, you will get used to your beautiful bird quickly and going to enjoy it more and more, your first landing was heaps better then my first and that was without a crosswind. Good luck and safe flying !!
Hey Terry. Congratulations on getting your CH650 airworthy.
I don't know if you are an EAA member but if you are you should be aware of the efforts to reduce accident fatalities in GA aircraft, such as the CH650, as directed by the NTSB in association with the FAA and the EAA. A major part of that effort is getting time in type with a flight instructor before making your first flight in a GA airplane that is new to you. Your comment that this first test flight of your new airplane is your first flight in a CH650 is not a good thing. You had difficulty making a landing with nothing going wrong with the aircraft. Imagine what your inexperience in the type could easily have lead to if there had been an issue with the aircraft that increased your work load. </SoapBox>
What is living out under that cowl? What do you have in that awesome looking panel? I like the paint job. You might consider putting a coat of flat black on that glare screen. I noticed quite a bit of reflection off the inside of your canopy.
Great job, I could feel your exuberation!
Terry....
Congratulations and it was sure good to see someone with a completed check-list in front of himself and using it.
