My plane has auxiliary tanks which I am using for main tanks and have the bungs are welded into the back of the tank instead of the back side corners. This does mean I had to plumb my tanks through the rear tank channel but it was easy and I didn't have to cut additional holes in the number 1 rib. Just a thought.

Its only about 100 bucks worth of metal and parts, so I figure I can mess up about 11 to 12 more times before I could have bought them from the factory. I think instead of calling it scratch building it should be call scrap building. Live and learn!! Im gonna be one bad ass welder by the time I get done.

I jumped on each tank with both feet and didn't make much of a dent in them. They are remarkably strong. They don't bend until you jump on the edges.
