I have been looking for custom length bonding (grounding) straps for a project for a while now. They are hard to come by. Yes, I could have used a battery cable of the correct length, but it would not have looked "official". I could have made them myself but I do not have the specialized crimpers for such large crimp-on connectors. If I soldered the joint it would be more prone to vibration failure where the wire strands meet the mass of solder.

 

Then, out of the blue, comes Steve and Dawn and their website of airplane stuff. I got two bonding straps made for a very fair price. They were delivered promptly. The quality is superb. I just thought the group should know that this outfit looks like a very good resource. They seem to have nice stuff and they are a pleasure to deal with.

 

I like the look of the flap switch setup they have developed. Large aircraft have the flap switch shaped like a flap so that you can identify it by feel and I was planning on doing something similar for my 601XLB flap switch when the time came. Now, it looks like I have a source of a nicely made setup, saves me having to reinvent the wheel.

 

Steve - Boeing aircraft also have a distinctive shape for the landing light switches so you can ID them by feel. Maybe you could make up a landing light toggle switch shape cover, as well?

Thanks for the compliment.  We just ordered some more bonding strap cables, and will be receiving it in about two weeks.  From that point forward, we will keep enough in stock to meet customer demand.  We just updated the website yesterday to reflect our pricing and product information.

Also, we are currently working with a Zenith customer who is putting all conductive teflon stainless braid fuel hoses in his aircraft.  These hoses can be seen at www.kitplanehoses.com.  They are of the same quality as "real" aircraft hoses, but we are able to offer them at great pricing because they are not "certified." 

Also, some other exciting info is that we are currently sourcing a CNC router and should be up and running in a few months.  We hope to be able to help builders custom cnc cut their instrument panels at very reasonable costs, and also have a few other projects up our sleeves as well! :)
