2004 601XL Building Wings
I bought complete kit on Barnstormers
Left wing is riveted on underside, old builder has cleco`s in top they are holding top together
Old owner did not install Gas Tank.
Question ! Will I have to drill out rivits on bottom of Leading Edge or will I be able to install gas tank and lines from the top after taking out cleco`s

Hi Thomas
No you wont have to drill anything out. The tanks are installed with the bottom of the nose skin riveted on. It is good news that the builder did not install the top skin because you thoroughly inspect any work not completed by yourself. I have attached the photo guide for the tanks. If the builder didn't supply you with full plans and photo guides, Zenith can supply them them to you.

Thomas-- Did the last builder do the B model upgrade to the wings, ailerons, center section, etc? If not, you should!

No are you talking about the Flutter Kit Upgrade If so the answer is NO

I have not heard it called the flutter kit before, but yes, that is what I know as the Upgrade Kit. Hopefully the last builder got an upgrade kit for the bird. If he did not, Zenith is selling them at a very fair price and you should get and install one. It will be good for resale value and for peace of mind, I expect.
