Could the bottom fuselage access panel be hinged for easy preflight access? Would this creat a structural weakness?

I did my 701 with a hinge forward and camlocks. The opening is totally framed so it never crossed my mind that there might be an issue. works great, easy access. Cheers,,,,,,,,,,, Lynn
HI Tim,
Did the same thing on my CH701 access panel. Works great, no problem.

hinge it then use floating nuts #10
Thanks guys. I think I'll get the hardware and do this.

The Alarus CH2000 has a hinge on the access and about fifteen screws holding the rear portion on. I am not sure if it is any easier access, as when the access is open I have to snake my way up into the hole. It is good because I will not lose the cover if the screws come out, but it does not open fully down so I have to be careful as to not bend the access door when I need in there. The cam locks sound like a great idea though, making it faster to take on and off.
