Does anyone have a build log format or example I can use to start my build with? I noticed that licensing inspectors have put a lot of importance on the build log for approval.

I've got my AW inspection this Monday (5-15) and the DAR said that all I needed was pictures that showed the building process and that I did it. He said pics did not even need to be printed off, he could view them on the laptop if it was easier for me. I'm real good on the number of pics, but lacking on the work narrative, but he said it was not an issue as long as it was apparent it was amateur built from the pics. He said FAA would be the same way for the Repairman's Cert.

Good Luck! I cant wait to hear how it goes. And I'm also glad to hear pictures can be online. Thats a big help.

Last weekend I created a Construction Log database that gives me flexibility to customize any fields the way I like them. I used the LibreOffice Base program on my sacrificial garage laptop. I have also created an Inventory database. That way I know exactly where to find each part.
