my 0-235 was rebuilt about 10 years ago and has 400 hrs on it. Does it effect mine?
The AD concerns engines that were built or rebuilt during a specific time window when some defective connecting rods and rod bearings were produced. Also affected are any engines that have had a connecting rod replaced in the field during the time of the bad rods being in the replacement parts pipeline. Gil, you say your engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago so you are ok as long as the engine's records don't show internal parts being replaced since then. I am partners in a 1959 Cessna 175 with a Lycoming O-360 and we had the same concern. Our engine was last overhauled about ten years ago also and the logs show no internal parts replaced since then. Clear!
You are best off reading the AD yourself to be sure, but from what you say you should be ok.
