thanks joe. its my first aircraft purchase after a lot of family owned ultralights and im just not an expert on 701's yet.. so ant help is welcome

Never laid eyes on it but considered buying it a couple years ago when it came up for sale in Kentucky. I spoke with the seller at length, arranged to drive up and see it, but decided to pass and build instead. Have you tried searching the members section for a 701 owner near Live Oak? Would be good to have someone with you who knows the 701.

Jim

well here I am,a texas boy in florida lookin at a 701. ill give yall a report tonight

Hi James , If it's flying have the owner fly it down to Sebring Aviation Show , the boys and other from the Zenith Factory could probably have a look at it and and advise you. I will be at the Show on Saturday and I would be glad to look it over. Tks Wayne

we went ahead and put money on it aftwr flying it.. shes not the absolute best looking. she has some superficial wrinkles in the skin. but solid riviting, and it flew like a dream and i couldnt not get it. whats a 80 hp rotax 912 supposed to climb at (fpm) with 380lbs of human and 96 gallons of fuel. i was gettin 450fpm. is that not enough.

If the info you are stating is correct you are Way Over Weight. 96 gallons of fuel?  Doesn't seem right to me , mind is only 21 gallons max. What was your climb out speed indicating? 450 ft/min would be minimum. But need more info to compare.
