Hello, where are you going to be stopping in alaska? I'm in North Pole, outside of Fairbanks. Myself and a few flying buddies would like to see the plane if your close.

thanks. Safe flying .

Jan,  that SD looks great next to the Maule, would be a hard choice to choose one or the other!!

Jan;

You stuck in Montanna?

Everything ok?

We just took a breake and updated the airplane some. Back in the air tomorrow morning

Jan

Why does your track end 20 miles NW of the last airport?

3 Garmin GPS readings about a 4 hour spread. Then nothing additional for 5 hours.

Not trying to be nosy, Just checking, making sure you're safe.

Keith

Not sure if you saw our post last night. We are returning to Florida. The additional torque of the Turbo engine require additional thrust bearings in the reduction drive. We will install these and continue the flight test program of the 180. The tracking will be back on for the return flight now when hand held is charged and ready

Jan;

I looked on Viking and here, don't see a post.

I'm just glad your safe. Looked like a precautionary landing type of thing, in a kind of remote area, and some one walking around with the GPS on intermittently. If there had been no response, my next call would have been the authorities to check the location.

Have a safe trip back.

Keith

I figured yesterday that something must be wrong and called your office at around 6 pm, to make sure that they are aware of the situation. A very friendly lady picked up and told me that you and your passenger are OK. Glad to hear. :-)

Where in the world is Jan?

We flew back to Florida. Oshkosh is next. New gearbox housings for turbo engines being machined with increased bearing capacity to handle the large increase in torque. Looking forward to restarting flight test program in 2 weeks. Other than this, the engine performed great and we had a lot of fun on our trip to Glendive Montana and back
