New Real Gasket pushrod tubes installed
Just finished installing the new style spring-loaded pushrod tubes from Real Gaskets of Tennessee.
There is a little machining work to do on your lifter covers. The interior circular "keepers" must be drilled out. Fairly easy to do with a drill press. I installed these to eliminate an irritating minor leak I have constantly dealt with on my pushrod tubes, mainly at the connection to the heads. This new design looks like it's should solve the oil leak problem by applying constant pressure on silicone seals at both ends of the tube with the spring. The new 0-200's have this style of tube, so the Continental engineers must see an advantage with them. Attached are some photos.

Aircraft Spruce, the set was around $400. You need the VCS-1 spring tool & a tube of ultra-copper sealant too. When you order, these items are suggested.
You could also order direct from Real Gaskets of Tennessee, it's the same price.

Hi Jimmy, I am also sporting the Real Gasket Push Tubes. I have heard good things about them. It will be a couple of months before I do my first run but please let us know how they worked.

Do the cylinders have to loosened or removed to get the old push rods out and the new ones in?

Hi Don, the cylinders stay on. I installed my tubes after I torqued my case and cylinders. The manufacturer states that you need to loosen the rocker covers before installing the tubes, then tighten them back down.

Steve, Didn't you have to machine the "ears" out of the lifter covers?

Not to derail the thread, but where did you find the block-off plate for the vac pump adapter?

Hi Carl, I made the cover plate but I will not use it as is. I made it from 1/8" plate and it should be thicker. I have thought about making another one and doubling it up but Fresno Airpart's has one for $17.50, so you can't beat that.
