While the Viking View looked really cool, but I don't have the panel space for it so I using the DYNON EMS system on my HDX and I am trying to find out how best to install the Oil Pressure Sensor.

There appears to be a Honda Oil Pressure Sensor on the Viking 130 already in the slot, but not electrically connected. I already have purchased a sensor from Dynon.

Questions:

1. Can the Dynon EMS read the Honda Sensor?

2. If not how do I adapt the Dynon sensor to the Honda Port?

Also can I remove this if oil is already filled?

Cannot speak for Dynon, we are using the Grands Rapids EIS 4000.  While this photo shows where we finally mounted the oil pressure sender to mitigate any effects of vibration, there are other posts on our builders site discussing the oil pressure sender, and adapters used.  Also, you can remove the sender at the engine when oil is filled.

Hey Jonathan:

This video should help.

Thanks Alissa, that's perfect!

I purchased the adapter referred to in the video, and during installation it continued to spin without bottoming out. I am not sure if the torque requirements are just very light and it strips easy, or if I just don't know my own strength, but I definitely have stripped threads now.

The unit the threads are in are obviously removable, what is the best way to remedy this?

How much does that sub-unit cost? Is this something Viking Customizes, or can I get it from Honda?

Does the unit have any complex R&I procedures?

Thanks

Jonathan

Hey Jonathan:
