I have a Zodiac 601xl and looking to clean up the undercarriage where the main landing gear attaches to the fuselage and put on a nose strut fairing. (Already have a wheel fairing).Any one offering the above?
I put on wing fairings and it gave me an extra 7 knots and lowered my stall speed. Cleaned up the area around the tail another 4 knots. Put in 9.5 to 1 Lycon pistons and rings on my Continental 0-200 engine. Went from 95 bhp to 118 bhp. Trying to get to IAS of 120 knots. Any help would help. Thanks in advance.

You got 7 knots from wing fairings alone? That's a huge improvement.
Can you show a photo of your wing fairings?
I would also like to clean up the bottom of my 601xlb, so would like to see your results

I wish I was farther along with my project. I bought it as a fairly complete XL and I've been installing the B mods. In a previous hobby I studied aero drag to try to make an old moped go faster. My suspicion is that you should focus on the space behind a draggy part such as the landing gear. I think it is not so much of pushing it through the air, rather, it is pulling it through the air. Attaching the air behind the gear probably has the biggest benefit. I think adding streamlining to the back side of the gear and asymmetrical streamlining under the fuselage should be easy to test with 2" foam from Lowes and some tape. Shoot for a 3:1 ratio of length to width.
I have wing fairings
I was interested in cleaning up the bottom, the under carriage.

This is what I will use on my round Kitfox wing struts. For the 601XL, I'll hot wire single piece foam that will bond to the rear of the landing gear. My cell# is 607 229 2218
