I'm installing a UL520T engine in my 750SD and trying to decide how I can route the fuel lines from the wing tanks, through the cabin to the header tank in the fuselage. As I want to keep a reasonable slope from the wing tank to the header tank, I don't see how I can do this without it passing by windows, etc. Unless I can figure it out it's going to be an unsightly mess.


I'd appreciate hearing how others have routed their lines in the cabin to avoid this mess, better yet, would love to see some photos.

I don't really know why you would need to maintain a downward slope to your header tank.  We are planning on running ours into the cover for the flaperon vertical rods, down into the flaperon horizontal rod section to the middle consol and forward thru the firewall.  We are not using a header tank, our return flow will go to the left wing tank. It will require an operational procedure to run off the left tank first.  This is similar to our 52 bonanza.

IMHO a header tank is more complicated to install but no operational procedures thereafter.

What engine are you installing?

Doing a lycoming O-360 A4M with electronic mags and fuel injection. 

just got the right side exhaust built today.

Without a continuously descending line the risk of air entrapment increases. This can be engineered out but would require additional weight and complexity; for example an electric boost pump mounted up high near the wing tank to push the fuel forward.
