If you're an EAA member it is in the digital archives. If you know the article you're looking for I might be able to squeeze it in as an attachment. The full issue is 50 MB and and attachments here are limited to 7 MB.

It’s the july 2001 issue and there is supposedly an article about a franklin powered 801, but when I tried to pull it up on the archive it didn't want to go back that far. What am I missing?

You need to click on the link titled "Sport Aviation Archives" which is below the "View Digital Edition" link. On the next page click on "View PDFs of Past Issues & Pages" below the pictures of the covers of the most recent editions. From there you can click on a drop down list of every year going all the way back to 1953. I don't know why they made it that hard to find, but they did. Here's a direct link:
