So I am to the point of mounting the voltage Regulator on the STOL 750 I started in 23 . The Zenith pictorial guide shows it mounted to the plate the coil pack is mounted to .

The U L  Power interactive guide says to put in on the fire wall due to vibration and heat .

It would appear that mounting it on the firewall is creating an air flow problem due to the close proximity of "L" brackets and so forth . However the leads for the regulator are long enough to go to the firewall.

Has anyone had any experience on the mounting location??

This is a computer controlled airplane and A+ voltage is critical.

So if anyone has any advise I would appreciate it.

Thanks

William

I bolted the Ducati VR that came with my 701 FWF kit to the firewall, five years and 230 hours in service. No problems so far…

I did the same as Jim, but got a poor ground through Zinc Chromate (anchor bolts might even have been a bit loose). Sanded off some ZC tightened anchor bolts, might have even added a ground cable to be sure. It’s on FW engine side directly in front of CP. 16 hours run time 3 hours in the air w/o issue.
