Hello all,

Posting photos and video in hopes this will help someone thinking about the design of dual throttles for the AM15.

Created a mount for the throttle mechanism from 1/8" 6061, and bolted it to the idle air plate. I cleared this type of mount with Mark beforehand. Couldn't find the exact clamps that I wanted to slot into the throttle cable groove, so made my own. I was surprised to find that Spruce doesn't carry a clamp with an index for the cables they sell. I used a 3ft cable on the pilot side. In hindsight I would have used a 4ft cable to get the mechanism closer to the throttle arm. I used a block of 3/8" aluminum, tapped 3 holes that at 10-32 treads and threaded the throttle cable ends into the block and also added a 3.5" 10-32 screw to join the throttle ball joint.

Throttle works smoothly. Of course haven't flown with it yet, but appears to work well.

Sorry, no video.  Only 7 mb upload allowed. Even my very short video was 16mb. So just visualize the throttle operation. :)

Tim,

An easy video workaround is to upload to YouTube and then post a link here.

Your fabrication looks great!  I found McFarlane Aviation to be a good source for the obscure parts and fittings needed for installing control assemblies. The best part is that you can call up and talk to one of the sales people and they'll usually find what you're looking for or suggest an alternative.  I had to fabricate a reversing bell crank for my Vernier Assist throttle/AeroInjector TBI carb setup and McFarlane was a lot of help.  They give a small discount if you mention you're an EAA or AOPA member.
