Tire bead breaker for Matco wheels
All my Carlisle Turf Glide tires are 12 years old now and they’ve held up well and show no signs of impending failure, but I decided 12 years is long enough. One of the things I dread is breaking the bead. Can’t pry against the Matco wheel rims, that would damage them for sure. I’ve done the pieces of wood and ratchet strap thing and although it works I don’t want to ever do that again. I found this tool and love its simplicity, and it’s made in the USA. Chuck it in my drill press and pull. Wow. I hope it works. I will report back as to how well it works. Anti-Splat Bead Breaker

I've used a rather clunky Harbor Freight breaker and it works "OK," but this looks like it would work just as well or better (assuming you have a drill press, which just about every builder has!). Definitely keep us posted on what you think!

Wow. Yes it is. Just used it and it works great! Took me about a minute to set it up and break the bead on both sides. Highly recommend it.

I have a Motion-pro bead-pro set designed for motorcycles that work great on my matco wheels. Quite a bit more expensive than the one from ACS, but it works stand-alone without a drill press. They are aluminum, so no wheel scratching and they are small and light enough (designed for motorcycling) you could keep them in the plane if you are headed into the backcountry.
