Zenith custom Rivet gun tips need info!!

HI all,

i have some really good rivet pulling tools, manual and air, but just need the modified tips for them to pull the AVEX rivets the way Zenith wants them..  does anyone know a place to get the tips already modified or the specs  and instructions on how to modify them myself??   thanks

Some folks have used drill presses in place of lathes to do the mod.  This video shows a drill bit being used, but some folks use a round grinding stone from a dremel tool to make the recess.

Zenith used to charge $8 a tip to modify them?

Hi, I resharpened a normal steel drill to have a round cutting edge, and drilled the riveter head...

worked fine...

I used a Butane torch to heat my rivet nose pieces until they were cherry red. After letting them cool I put them in my drill press vise and used a 3/8 " bit to drill it out. Make sure it's pretty well level and squared up in the vise. After several tries I got it to deep and had to file some off the tip so it wouldn't leave a mark on the skin. I polished the inside using a wooden dowel and some Scotch Bright in my hand drill. Works very good. I made a video but haven't posted it anywhere.
