Cowl mounting advice

Hi everyone,We are rapidly approaching something I have been dreading since the build began, mounting the cowl. Our plane is a 750 Cruzer..... Engine Aeromomentum AM15.....Cowl is carbon fiber. We are seeking any advice on how to go about mounting the cowl. I tend to like the extruded piano hinge method, but at this point we are open to any attachment method that works and holds up over time.We have not trimmed any of the aluminum that extends forward past the firewall, nor have we trimmed any of…See More

Dual Throttles for AeroMomentum AM15

Hello all,Posting photos and video in hopes this will help someone thinking about the design of dual throttles for the AM15.Created a mount for the throttle mechanism from 1/8" 6061, and bolted it to the idle air plate. I cleared this type of mount with Mark beforehand. Couldn't find the exact clamps that I wanted to slot into the throttle cable groove, so made my own. I was surprised to find that Spruce doesn't carry a clamp with an index for the cables they sell. I used a 3ft cable on the…See More

Weight and Balance

Hi everyone,Thinking ahead to weight and balance for our 750 Cruzer. Project is still in my garage without wings, but this Covid quarantine has me with a good amount of free time.I ordered 3 digital scales from Amazon for about $12 each. They seem accurate enough. My wife and I weighed about a dozen times or so on each scale and the variance was less than 3 tenths on each scale. After we popped a couple of Prozac to squelch the depression after our weigh-in, I set about to attempt a weigh-in of…See More

SPRL V3 DUPLEX FU

Just wondering if anyone else had encountered the very tight clearance of the topmost screw on the SPRL V3 duplex valve??? As you can see from the pics, there is very little space to install the topmost screw, in respect to the 1/4" return line from the engine. I had to cut the 8/32 screw down to size and use a thin nut, as opposed to a thicker nylock nut I wanted to use. I am curious if I will even be able to tighten the return line nut when I install the fuel line.I asked the company that…See More

Location and length of Mic/Phone wiring

Hi everyone,I have a 750 Cruzer and it has come time to design/plan for the pilot/co-pilot phones and mic jacks.I fly a Cherokee at present and one of the things that annoys me to no end is the location of the comm jacks in the plane. They are in the floor under the panel, so plugging into the jacks results in interference with the flap handle and other things in the airplane. My goal with the Cruzer is to avoid tangled headset wires at all cost, which in my mind leads to installing jacks into…See More

Routing fuel line/brake line/wiring

Hi folks,Posting in the open forum, as this question is not truly type specific. I am building a 750 Cruzer.I like the idea of keeping fuel lines out of the cabin, if at all possible. I have seen others route fuel lines inside the stiffener on the bottom of the airplane C75F10-4. I was thinking of running the fuel lines behind the baggage compartment and then through the stiffener towards the firewall, then covering this stiffener to protect the lines. But, this would have the lines routed…See More

Tim,

I got my engine kit early (like 2 years ago) and am wondering if you had additional parts/holes than what I received.  Did you have to drill holes in the gear box frame to mount the radiator?
