Marco Nose Wheel

I purchase an old ch801 kit that was started 15-20 years ago. Getting ready to set it on gear so I am assembling the tires on wheel (800-6). Strange is the nose wheel. Came in three parts; two opposite sides and a 1 inch wide spacer ring in between. Does not fit together well and none of my hanger rat buddies has ever seen such a lash up. Anybody know anything about this wheel configuration? Thanks, BillSee More

Flap motor gears

Hello fellow airplane builders,  does anyone know how many degrees the flaperon moves for each 360 degree twist of the flap gear shaft?  If the spand between neutral and full deflection is 13 degrees how many turns for the flap motor gear shaft? My build is a ch801. Course, I suppose the 701 & 750 use the same motor and gear shaft. Thanks, Bill See More

Bending landing gear

Saw a utube on 801 upgrades where the builder had the standard gear rebent 2 degrees for each side and effectively straighten the legs. Looks good in the video. Anybody know where and who can bend this thick gear? Thanks, Bill See More

Top & side skin to firewall

Hello fellow builders. It appears in several sections photos that show the forward edge of the top & side skins are bent around the edges of the firewall. Can not find where in the plans this is called for nor do I know the best technique to perform this task. Who out there in builder land knows the answer? Also I suppose the 701, 750 & 801s are similar? Thanks Bill of Georgia See More

801 Firewall Placement Confusion

Hello fellow airplane builders, I am confused by the difference in the written instructions and the many photos of the firewall attachment. At Forward Fuselage Assembly section 3 page 6 the written text Twice says “ firewall over hang past the front edge 2-3 mm past floor skin front edge” but the photo on page 6 and section 5 page 3 seems to show the bottom edge on the firewall to be flush with the floor skin? So where is the correct placement? Hope for some help, thanks from Bill of Georgia See More

Hi,

Sorry I missed your message a few weeks back. As for the no-slot-Flaperon, I did make my own. I based my design roughly on what Charles Liming has posted at http://www.liming.org/ch801/FHNSF.html
I hope that helps! I would also love to have a look at what you have designed for sliding seats. Send me an email directly at MyFirstName(Dan)@MyLastname.org. I’m in FL this week, and will be flying the 801 back up through GA on my way to Knoxville. Would be a good time to stop in and see your project, and you can look over the no-slat-Flaperon. Email your phone # and I’ll give you a call when I head back northbound.

William, Used the stock banana hole that was provided by the factory. With proper fitting, it required no modification, at least on mine. —Ted

My apologies for the late response, as I just noticed this question. I’m afraid I don’t know the answer as I only just started my build and have only completed the rudder to date.

Sorry im not more help!
