GOOD NEWS,
Last Thursday Tom left the hospital and was moved to a rehab center, which means when he proves he can take care of himself he will be on his way home.
This whole episode has proved one thing to me. Do your research, choose a plane which meets your needs, choose a company that will back you, choose an engine that’s proven, and follow the plans. Than you can post what RW Hunker did (1000 hrs. and 15 years). What more can you ask?

Dear Zenithaero Members,
Tom based his plane at Queen City Airport (XLL) in low wind conditions runway 25 is used for standard departures than for noise abatement follow I78 west. The air park is surrounded with developments and a long narrow stretch which is part of Allentown park system. At the time Tom was climbing out his engine failed, giving him only two choices I78 or the park system. It seems he chose the latter. Descending through the trees and into stream Tom took one hell…

The geese are back,
A few weeks ago the snow geese started to arrive in full force and spread out all over the valley in which I live. This started about five years ago and it seems more and more are joining the fray. Winter wheat planted in fall stands about two inches high at this time of year is tops on the menu. Flocks like the ones shown can destroy a field in one day, it is to the point farmers are planting more corn in place of wheat. Along with some corn my land is planted…

The seat belts I now use come from RJS , they are RJS junior racing cam lock 2" belts, you have to specify that the dual shoulder belts need to be 60" long or whatever you need to mount to your attachment points, my attach point is a top and bottom ,.063 plate in roof behind the cross brace , I also shorten the lap belts to get rid of excess belting , I think we could get RJS to do the mod. as they make the belts to order anyway...BOB
I tried to add the location but for some reason the mapping did not work, our seaplane base is currently on the River Iijoki, 30km north of the city of Oulu on the west coast of Finland. We're about 200km south of the Arctic Circle.
Hi, I can add the location to the photo. The dock would not be visible as we built it last week :)
I was travelling last week, just got back on Saturday. Went flying on Sunday, fell from the float to the mud, then decided we need the dock, bought the material on Monday, built the dock on Tuesday morning at home and installed it on Tuesday evening ;)
Thanks. Stop in if you are in Texas
Scott
I'm sitting here this very minute thinking the same thing. '14 was a busy year for neglected home projects and worse. Airborne in '15 or fight! There you go.
