Information fo those considering using a lyc 0-320:

Installed a lyc 0-320 (150hp) in my Cruzer w/wood sensi prop.

I have all interior surfaces painted with 3 light coats of acid etch primer'

I have 750 stol wheels

Heavier cowl due to having to enlarge bottom of zenith cowl to fit standard air box and filter

Full exterior paint job

320 E2D with carb, slick mags, b&c alt mounted on vac pad, light vetterman exhaust w/2 mufflers/heat shrouds, and 2inch alum prop spacer for 13 inch vans spinner/ 2nd bulkhead.

w/ 3 gal unuseable fuel, oil, and interior.

Weight: 946 lbs.  CG very good with no weights needed.

1440 gross,    494 lbs usable.......180 lbs (me), 180 lbs full fuel, + 134 lbs of ? to gross weight.

As I will be flying alone most of the time, It fits my mission well with, hopefully, really good performance.

However, Considering increasing gross weight to 1500 lbs.  With 3.8 g load limits.

I need an older single axis trutrak autopilot. If you are upgrading I will buy your old one.

Price and availability.

Interested in comments regarding the Franklin Sport 4 installation.  I have one with all firewall forward removed from a CH-200 project.  Thinking about a Cruzer install.

Mark Leppky,  I.m even newer.  I just purchased a bunch of parts and some assemblies for a CH-300 without any builders manual.  Was wondering if you could / would supply a copy of yours, with some financial consideration of course.

Hi, I’m new here.
Have the CH300 torn apart for it’s first annual inspection.

Nose gear frame is out for welding.
The tab that attaches to the firewall was broken off.

Firewall stiffeners for the gear attach are cracked.
Is this a common problem? 750hrs TT

Also the stabilator attach brackets have been significant changed compared to the plans.
Is this a common problem? Was there a repair or upgrade available? The current fittings are made from a very soft aluminum alloy. Should I be concerned?

 Thanks

Hi guy as you know I'm the proud owner of Tom Simards CH750. I'm having issues with the charging system on the Jabiru 3300 he installed. I'm getting a lot of interference on the com radio when I key up and talk in the pattern. The higher the rpm's the louder it gets. I tried putting isolating capacitors on the charging system to fix the issue and no help there. any suggestions?

FYI Just to let you all know Tom is not with us any more, He lost his battle to cancer and will be missed by many.

Hi All,

Well I'm jumping into it and have ordered the CH750 Cruzer rudder kit.  Looking forward to starting on it and getting my order in for the airframe kit. I think I'd like to go with the Viking engine, but am going to wait a while to finalize a decision once I get close to finishing the airframe.  I've owned and flown gliders for a long time, but figured it was time to add power to my license.

Hey Steve,

I cut the angle and rounded the other 3 corners using a band saw and bench sander as per Drawing AA-01 and AA-02 on all the flaperon hinge bracket pieces (A2-1) and trial fit one piece to determine the location of the 3/16 inch hole exactly. Then I drilled them all and they fit perfectly. If you are less venturous you might want to trial fit and drill each piece separately. Just be careful because you have different left and right hinge brackets.

750SD Flaperon bracket. Is the 3/16 Bottom bolt hole drilled Now or just prior to attaching to wing?

Are you guys putting a radius on the bracket?

Problem.  251 hours on airframe ZENITH  601XLB.    Lycoming O-235 engine.

NO FUEL PRESSURE shows on gauge however, engine runs fine.

Electric fuel pressure gauge, with electric fuel pump and an engine pump.

Put air pressure to fuel pressure sender and it registers on the fuel pressure gauge. Therefore gauge and send er are okay.

However, fuel coming to sensor is minimal and does not register on fuel pressure gauge.

Sender has been replaced and is new.

Is there a screen in the carburetor restricting pressure to the fuel pressure sender?

The gauge is from Chief Aircraft.

 is a puzzlement!

I bought my CH601XL-B but for those that built their airplanes and wnet through the whole process, where does the term "Light Sport" appear in your FAA documents?  My registration just says "Experimental".. That's all.

I have an old RevMaster 2100D engine assembly manual that is free to a good home if anyone needs it.

Has anyone used/installed the power flow exhaust system? I'm thinking of putting one on my CH250

In January 2017, Zenith issued a service notice for "Mandatory Action" for "Inspection of the Horizontal Stabilizer tail attachment brackets".

I performed this inspection on my Jabiru 2200 powered CH701 and found no problems. I have heard that when shutting down some engines there is quite a bit of shaking of the tail which could lead to issues with the stabilizer attachment.

My question is, how many Zenith drivers have done this, were any issues found, and what engine was installed.

Venturi Tube on CH701. My CH601 has  venturi tube mounted outside the cabin wall over the wing root. it works well. Has anyone used a venturi tube on their CH701 ?  If so where was it mounted ?
