This photo the next morning... we finished at 1:30 AM. Once you take the gear off you can't put the aircraft down safely until its all bolted & cabled into it new landing gear. I had the help of a very experienced AME James Mohns to get this done. Just a few minor things...water rudder cables, brakes, hydraulic lines and C-IKIM is ready once again for flight. Top of the rudder is 9 ft - 8 inches. Amphib floats at 200 lbs to your empty weight on wheels once installed.

Not strong enough for floats? Or a larger engine? Recommended power is I believe 80 - 140 hp, max engine weight 300+ lbs...
The Rotax 912S is a great engine, but not enough power for flying on floats. Floats add 200 lbs to the air frame and the CH750 is already a heavier air frame than the CH701. You need 130 - 150 hp for a CH750 to fly on floats and the air frame is not strong enough for that.
Is that a Rotax 912? Is it powerful enough for floats?
The main gear wheels are place rearward of where the main gear would be on tire gear. When you lift up on the nose (or pull down on the tail) the wings actually go upward. So lifting the nose to sneak it into the hangar isn't going to work for me.
9'8" WOW.
Just wondering, since I'm planning on floats as well. My garage has 10' high doors which will be pretty snug! If you push down on the tail can you lift the front up or would it be too heavy with the floats on?
Outstanding Bob........What a great looking plane with the floats. Love it.
Looking great Bob. Looking forward to some shots of it on and off the water - also interested to hear how you find it handles with floats vs wheels
Bob,
It looks MARVELLOUS !!!
Got my flight permit today !!!
Cheers
Norm
Beautiful! The plane looks very natural on floats.
