Retired Captain, United Airlines. I'm flying off 600 ft gravel strip 10 miles east of Bend, OR, elevation 3500 feet. Everything about the 750 is as advertised, except build time and cruise speed. The view is fabulous!

CH750: The results of my first riveting experience

After I figured out a system, skinning the flaperons "solo" went perfectly. The photos tell most of the story, but if anyone wants more info, let me know.

Thanks Ken! How often are you flying your 750? I'd love to check out your aircraft. I haven't started a build but attended a Zenith rudder workshop years ago and have done some RV classes at Synergy Air in Eugene.

ken do you have the elevator vg's installed?  the nose does seem to hit hard when the elevator loses authority on lots of the videos, which worries me.  thank god ill be using the lite weight rotax and not the heavier continetal i was originally going to install, i believe money well spent with bigger useful load , $20 an hour fuel costs, great reliability and resale value.  maybe after landing hold the nose just off the runaway instead of holding high like i always do from doing full stall landings, problem appears that it just happens too fast and the elevator authority just quits and down comes the nose gear. thanks for the heads up best chris

thanks for the pics.  glad to hear its doing great after the mods. i figure ill build to plan and then add things after i get flying and see what she needs.  i want to teach my 4 kids to fly so ill probably take the slats off so it will be more forgiving on their landings and add the vg's to the main wing like john austin has.  you can really slam a cessna down hard on the mains and have it just bounce back into the air but i dont think the 750 will take that kind of abuse. can hardly wait to get in the air. best chris

have you got all 40 hours flown off. im going to mgl to see all they have and do my panel similar except with remote sandia xpnr. did you run the rubber fuel lines in the standard position.  hows the rotax heat wise, did you open the bottom of the cowl any or add a lip to the bottom.  luckily im going to see a few 750 builders in a few weeks and this should really be helpful. all apart for deburring and steel parts painting now to rivet and hang the engine and put back on gear. your plane is on my wall giving me incentive to finish each day.  enjoy the flying im ready for lots of dirt outback adventures once shes done best chris

Well Ken, There is just one thing for it - get down to San Francisco airport and take a 12hr overnight flight to Auckland - its not that far really! - and there is a growing group of zenith pilots and builders scattered around the countrymto maybe visit.  You'd be welcome to call in here in Blenheim

Hi Ken,

I have always enjoyed your crazy "motorbike" photo!

Thanks for the info.

Usually take an annual trip to see friends near Eugene, will try to plan a stop at your place when I go north.  The powered parachute EAA chapter has been coming to Brownsville, OR the last few years, great open grass field.

Please stop by Oakdale if you have a chance, I can arrange hangar space if you need it.

Congratulations on the first flight.  Great shop pics.

Can I land at your strip when I visit Oregon?  What are your Lat/Long coord.?
