Carb vs Injection

Hoping someone more knowledgeable on engines can help me decide if I should go with carb or injection on a 200hp Lycoming?I've tried Googling the differences and it seems that carbs are simpler and cheaper. Injection is "newer technology" but carbs still work just fine. The fuel system would be more complex with the injection as it would require return lines. I like the simplicity of the carb, but feel like I'd be choosing "old technology".Thoughts??See More

Engine quitting...

Something I've noticed...Before each flight I run the engine on both pumps to make sure they both work. I haven't yet switched over to the back-up pump in flight, but after landing on the taxi in, if I switch to the backup pump, the engine quits. The pump works, but there must be air in the line I'm guessing. It's not there before flight, but after something must be holding up the fuel. When I restart the engine, I can switch between pump 1 and 2 all day long with no issue. It's just that…See More

Where to get fresh air?

I have a 1" hose that goes to what I think is the regulator/rectifier. It's been so long since I've done any engine work I don't even remember what the components are now!Anyway, I wanted to route this to a NACA scoop on the side of the cowl, but I can not find where to buy a plastic or fiberglass NACA scoop for a one inch hose. All of them are for a 2" hose. What did you all do? Where are you getting cooling air from? My cowl is ready to paint with the exception of maybe adding a nana scoop, so…See More

Mark,

Thanks for the great videos.  Question, did you prep the wings for paint differently then the tail or fuselage?  Soap scotch bright 701 primer..I thought I saw you wiping the wings with Alodine or similar.

Who do you fly for? I’m flying for Alaska based in LA.  I’ve been with Alaska since 92 and began UPT at Columbus AFB in 84.

I just started a 750SD

Thanks

Steve

Hi Mark have you installed or know of anybody else that has installed Dynon Pitch & Roll Servo's to utilize the Autopilot facility on the Dynon HDX for your Cruzer..

I would be appreciative any photos or referrals that you can provide on how to hook up the controls to the servo's and  their location.

Thanks Mate
