I've noticed there are two different cowls on Zeniths with Jabiru engines. These aren't great pics but look close and notice the two different cowls. Which one is the current version if I were to buy a Jabiru FWF kit?

I'm not sure if the 650 has a different cowl, but the 750 STOL in the lower picture does not have the current cowl.  The cowl pictured only has about a 1" lip at the aft lower edge where the air exhausts.  The current cowl extends lower/deeper behind the oil cooler opening and smoothly expands to a larger opening.

I had to extend the 1" lip to about 3" overall to aid cooling with my Gen 2 and never did upgrade to the newer cowl.  When I upgraded the engine to the Gen 4, it cooled even better than before - seems cooling is no longer an issue with the Gen 4!

If no one chimes-in here, I'm sure Nick Otterback at Arion Aircraft, the Jabiru engine dealer/repair center, can tell you if the current 650 cowl is any different from the 750 STOL.

BTW, since the Jab is so light and a longer engine with 6 cylinders - it sits much further forward of the firewall for the W&B to work.  This results in a longer, slender cowl which really helps make the Zenith designs look less "boxy."  IMHO it's the best-looking cowl on a Zenith aircraft!
