Made the trip I've been trying to make before starting the 701 build. It was a long road but the pay off was worth all the work. Took off from home airport PAOT, Kotzebue AK, to PAIK Kiana, picking up the Kobuk River and following it to the great sand dunes. the most northern desert in the world. Was one of the most fantastic trips I've made in the 701. Here are some pictures. ill add more pics later…

Thanks for the reply/info Dave .
Hi Dave , i need to replace the main gear on my 701 and I saw where you recommended the Grove gear to a fella that was looking to buy a bent airplane .
Please tell me why you prefer the Grove gear .
Thanks

I was going to plans build them.
David, I just saw your comment on the snorkel vent cap. Also realized that almost 2 years ago you were on the 'friends request' of my sign in. I apologize for not responding then but I'm not a computer geek. I'm hoping to get my 750 flying this summer here in Wasilla. I'm lucky in that two members live close by. They are Bob Jones and Bill Bear.
Happy to have you as a friend.how did you modify your wing?
I know it is longer so what did you modify to make it happen?
Thanks for any info provided. I like to exchange info on the 701 flying and building...if you have questions, comments dont hesitate...
Regards,
Norm
Hi Dave thank you. Is that with flaps and power? With 15 degrees of flap and about 3000 rpm I am getting about the same. My original 35 mph was no power , no flaps. I am also in the flight testing stage, currently trying different landing techniques. There's probably a whole thread on landing but haven't gone looking yet. So far the best short field over an obstacle seems to be approach at 45-50 and add a burst of power to flare, landing with stick full back. Engine out approach has to be at 60 to have enough speed for the elevator to get the nose up to flare. have done a few 300 foot landings but not yet consistent. Any thoughts??
