Last weekend, on September 7 and 8, the nationwide meeting of UL 2024 pilots took place at the Łomża Jeziorko landing site in Poland. After the conference part, in the afternoon, it was time for practical flying activities. A gate was prepared at the landing site and anyone willing could demonstrate their piloting skills. The pilot's task was to fly through the gate marked out by foil tapes raised on poles and not to break any of the tapes when flying between and below the tapes.

This was my second year to participate in our local county's DART exercise. I flew three missions during our mock exercise last weekend. We deliver food to food banks in the area using donated food as our load for practice. All loads were weighed and loaded in general aviation aircraft at the pilots direction. I flew 100 lbs on one trip and 75 lbs the second. Took pics of all the bridges on my recon flight. The STOL CH 701 is perfect for this. This really is a good program and it enhances…

Here's a brief overview of the pre-flight of the main spring gear of the Zenith STOL CH 701 - to make sure that the aluminum spring gear is properly tightened between the two polyurethane spacers (on both sides). This is a quick and easy item to check for regularly (and especially after a rough landing):
Older STOL CH701's used pieces of…

Hi Fellow Zenith flyers and builders, I'm in the process of fitting a new propeller to my CH701. I'm running a Rotax 914 turbo (115hp). I'm not keen on a constant speed propeller, so what propeller would be appropriate to get good results for my aircraft? If you have any experiences good, bad or otherwise, please let me know. Volkys

Dear fellow builders,
Winter has once again set in once again in Pennsylvania. The geese are back by the thousands. All the abandoned quarries are wall-to-wall geese. Living in a cement producing area, quarries provide safe haven from coyotes, fox and stray cats. Each morning like a living cork screw they leave in search of winter wheat, corn and bean fields. For some reason the first stop is my strip. There they hold court. I cannot identify the leader, or do they have a pa system,…
