Corvair powered XL is finally ready to fly
I just wanted to post that our corvair powered 601 xl is ready to fly. We are currently conducting taxi tests and waiting for our DAR inspection on monday. The airplane is equipped with a dynon efis d-100 and engine monitor d-120, gps 496, etc. (see pics) It has a standard William Wynne 2700 corvair engine with a Weseman 5th bearing and an MA3-spa carb. We are running a 60 amp rear alternator to power our all electric panel, landing lights and strobes, etc. Well, back to polishing....see ya at sun n fun.

yes, we're going to have an auto body friend shoot some trim paint. I also wanted everyone to notice the guy w/ the fire extinguisher. This is a very important item to have for early engine runs and flight testing.

Great job, Louis. I really like the look of your panel and always prefer the polished aluminum exterior. Do you have plans for any paint trim? Good luck on the DAR inspection. Hopefully I won't be more than a few months behind you.
