Zenith 750 Cruzer, A brake question

Asking Zenith.
The brake caliper interferes with the main spring. As far as I understand the caliper should move freely. Actually it has a movement range of about 2mm.
Should I remove the corner of the main spring to allow the caliper to move the full range?
