Hi Ed, I've been too busy to get to this until now.... you'll need to have a copy of the logo on your PC first. But then login to your Wordpress account and in the left hand column there is a link called "Appearance". Click on it or hover over it and you will see a sub menu called "Background". Now you will see a a "Choose File" and Upload form which you can use to locate and upload the logo file. Once you have done that, be sure to "Save Changes".

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need help saving the logo to your desktop.

Paul,

I followed the directions and still cannot get it correct?  The picture shows up, not as a repeat pattern, in the background, but as one big picture behind my posts?  I also have a default picture that looks like a Persian rug design on my page?

If you look at the Backgrounds page again there is an item under Display Options called "Repeat": make sure that is set to "Tile".

To remove the rug, go to the left hand side again and under Appearance there is an option called Header. There you can upload your own header, choose one of the canned ones or "Remove Header" if you don't want any.

I got the the rug to go away and entered the picture, but the tiles won't repeat.  The site is oldsstol750.wordpress.com

Hi Ed,

I hung a desk calender on the shop door and made notes at the end of each day. Photos were all put on a CD.

That arrangement made the inspecter happy.

Seems like less is more?  I'm hearing that from most guys.  I was trying to make sure I had enough to qualify for my mechanic certificate.

I use Kitlog Pro as well. I have a little over 2000 hrs on my 601 XL-B project now including the upgrade. I assume you didn't have your log file saved to a memory stick or similar for a backup? The data file is a Microsoft Database file (kitlog.mdb or whatever you named it) and can be opened with Microsoft Office or Open Office applications.

However, I have problems with Kitlog Pro too, but it continues to work. I get an "Unhandled Exception" error every time I start it. Clicking on "Continue" lets the program start with no apparent bad side effects. I tried to "Post to Internet" to get my build log on a web site, but Kitlog Pro just hangs and locks up and I have to shut it down through Task Manager. Uninstalling it and re-installing Kitlog makes no change in this operation. Guess nothing is perfect.

Thanks for the response.  I have exactly the same issues with Kitlog.  I did have a computer company back up my data, but apparently the guy didn't know what he was doing or the Kitlog program caused an issue?

If the backup company can find the .mdb file they should be able to retrieve the data. Kitlog will automatically open a database if it is named kitlog.mdb so the saved file name may have to be changed. If you can get Kitlog re-installed it may be worth it to try. Kitlog does a lot of other record keeping tasks too beyond the basic builders log.

I had some success with Kitlog Pro so I thought I should mention it. I installed Kitlog Pro on an old IBM Thinkpad (Laptop). Kitlog installed normally. I copied my kitlog.mdb file (from a memory stick) into the Program files/Aeroware/Kitlog Pro v2.0 directory so it would be available to open. It opened just fine. I clicked on the "Post to Internet" button and a little status box opened. The Status doesn't really show anything happening, but after a half hour or so another box opened indicating that the upload was successful. Bottom line is that Kitlog Pro does work and does do what it advertises, although with a bit of turbulence along the way. Just like airplane building. Perseverance.

I started off using Expercraft and really liked the program. Then we lost our hard drive just like you. We then started keeping a photo log with me in as many of the pictures as possible and dated entries onto a second set of blueprints that I had copied. this worked well and the Orlando FSDO was happy with this pictoral log as it showed that you actually did the work which is the sole purpose of the log from their perspective. I then transferred all of the pictures to my I-Pad and it sets them up in categories, Panel, Wings etc. This made it very mobile. It was explained to me that they prefer pictures as they show you doing the actual work vs. someone just re-creating a log. ( hard to believe but I guess some people actually do that :0.)
