Despite my best efforts, I had a little gap on the leading edge of the hor stab. What two part filler would you use? Factory says it was ok to use. Need something from Aircraft Spruce, and preferably a little thicker to fill 2-3mm gap.

Thanks,

CB

I used West System epoxy with a filler that they recommended for fairings and gap filler. I especially had trouble with same gap, only bigger on forward edge of wings. Worked well and I have used for many other small touchups on some rough or less than ideal fiberglass throughout my build.

Thank you! Which one did you use? Spruce said the 610 filler wasn't that thick, so I wanted to wait and see what you guys used. Which number from West did you use?

Chris - West "G/flex" 655-K is a thickened epoxy adhesive (Spruce has it: # 01-01163.) Good for bonding to aluminum - I used it to bond aluminum backing strips inside my fiberglass cowl and also as a filler in small gaps between the edge of the aluminum and the fiberglass in a few spots. Seems to be holding up well on the cowl.

Thanks!
