I'll be leaving Galt Ca on Saturday the 15th.  I'll be going north and camping in Idaho for a few days then on to Oshkosh.  Should arrive on Friday the 21st.

I am planning the same thing. Flying in Sunday or Monday and camping for a day or two.

Problem is weight and balance of my 601XL with two men and camping gear. Either need to reduce the gear or find a way to get the gear to/from southeastern Michigan separately.

You can ship your gear to Oshkosh. I think UPS and Fed Ex have pickup areas.

Zenith not done yet. Just mounted the engine. Flying the Baron and camping in Vintage. Would love to see others if you'll be around. Should get in Monday. Leave Friday. If anyone is flying up from Florida or south US and needs useful load then I've got plenty. Hopefully won't be that way next year!

Just got done an upgrade on mY 801
If all checks out OK this weekend, I plan to arrive either Fri or Sat PM and camp at plane.

Do you guys think there'll be plenty of space or will we need to plan to get there early?

 

Is there any particular place within the experimental camping area that can be reserved for Zeniths?

I certainly would encourage all Zenith builders and flyers to schedule their AirVenture stay to include Thursday night so they can attend the Zenith Banquet!  A good time is had by all and it is fun to put faces with familiar names from the Forum.  Zenith and associated vendors present useful information and news and there are great door prizes, too!

The Banquet is off-site at the Elk's Club in Oshkosh. If you do have ground transportation and have extra seats available to give someone a lift to the Banquet, or, if you are flying-in and camping and don't have ground transportation, meet at the Zenith display at 5 p.m. Thursday and the good folks from Zenith will try to coordinate rides to the Banquet.  Additionally, Joe Scheibinger, the Banquet organizer and an Oshkosh local, is investigating alternative transportation available such as a bus, Uber, etc.

As forum moderator, I'm going to post a new discussion to further publicize this and perhaps let some arrange rides online.

We will be driving from Colorado. Will be arriving on Sunday and camping at Camp Scholler. We will be leaving on Thursday morning and continuing on to Charlotte, NC to see my daughter.
