Now that the FAA's Third Class Medical Reform has passed and the criteria have been expanded, any thoughts on how this might impact Zenith builds if the builder so chooses (e.g., EAB vs. the LSA limits)? Or how it might affect what your build?

My 172 was less than $800 two years ago.  I am 74 now so I don't think age was much of a factor.  Flying 601 tail dragger now and it is about $1200.  It does go down each year with more TD time.  At least so far it has.

I had been getting a 3rd class SI for the last 8 years.  Did many first class years ago in a previous life.  My cardiologist (had been doing SI for me previously) did my basic med.  He is a pilot(every other person in Alaska is!) and it was his first.  The impetus for my basic med was that I wanted to register my recently completed STOL 750 as EAB.  For those of us that have taken the online quiz, most of the questions are common sense but some are a little head scratching.  My advice for those doing it the first time is view every one of the short videos prior for I found that the answers to some of the questions are included in the videos.

I went with 1440 lb. weight limit because of this. Plus a few other benefits.

Let's just say N167EZ got some new strobe, landing and taxi  lights.
