OK folks - what are you doing, have you done or would you like to do on the ROTAX 912ULS Five Year Rubber change out on an EAB airplane. I know there are kits from ROTAX, CPS, Aircraft Spruce and others - I am looking into all the various ideas and especially sources you may have used and or are planning to use. Not necessarily the lowest cost but economical and efficient.
There are alternate sources for the carb boots, also rubber hose sources - I have seen them from time to time but have not bothered to list. What are your ideas. What did you do???
Still grinnin!!

Phil I would consider weighing the cost of replacing your rubber fuel lines with Teflon lines, which have no calendar replacement requirement. They are replaced only on condition. My 2018 Rotax engine came with the Teflon lines so I have not priced them.
Dont forget the mechanical fuel pump has a five year replacement requirement as well.
Jim and Amelia, Hi again. I have already done the fuel and oil lines with Teflon and fire shield - I'm just trying to figure out what is available to do the water and water pump Rotax supplied hoses also the Carb boots. Right now I have been running all on an inspection basis - see no problems yet. Did the fuel pump when I replaced the old with the new style a short time ??? back. With the weep line on the new pump it should give a warning - I have been told that the engine will run fine on gravity feed - think Cessna planes

Well, my plane was built in 2004(not by me I'm the 4th owner). When I learned of the 5 year rubber replacement I looked in the log books and did not see where it had ever been done. Which probably explains why both of my carbs had pulled loose from the intake manifold flanges(fortunately I was on the ground). If you are not yet a member I would consider joining the Rotax Owners forum. Roger Lee had posted what can be used for some of the hose replacement(like Gates fuel lines). Last year my A&P and I changed all the fuel lines and fire sleeve, water hoses and oil hoses. We also replaced the intake manifold flanges too. I subsequently discovered that you are supposed to change out the mechanical fuel pump so I did that. As for the carbs I took them off and sent them to Lockwood to have them serviced. I put them back on and my mechanic helped balance them. The year before I had discovered that the gearbox is supposed to be serviced at 600 hours so that went out to Lockwood as well.
