Hi
Sometime in the future I will be updating my panel with MGL equipment. My question is about powering everything up. Should I have all radios and such on one switch or should you have multiple switches, say one for radios , one for transponder, one for the glass panel, etc. What is the common way to do this. I currently have a master, nav, and one for the efis. Any help appreciated.

Yes I will. I downloaded the pdf's last night. Thanks.
I used a Composite Design power panel. The quality and support are first-rate!
My MGL XTreme EFIS and EMS are powered-on with the master (so I can check fuel quantity and monitor oil pressure and rpms at engine start), but their power is filtered through the power panel. Has worked great for 8 years and 640 hrs!

Hi
Ok that looks great. I'll definitely look into it. It looks like it fits into a radio size slot or is it smaller or larger. ?
Composite Design makes a "Radio Stack Power Panel" that fits precisely in a standard stack opening.

Ok
Thanks I'll check it out.
Ok that sounds like a very good idea. I see you have your fuel on the MGL panel. I am debating whether to do that or keep the VDO guages. .Can you have both? or will that not work.
I honestly don't know, but the MGL XTreme EFIS allows calibration of the sender (as most EFIS do) and is very accurate. It also has a fuel totalizer, so if one lost their fuel gauges for some reason, the totalizer is a great backup and is also very accurate. However, I've never had the slightest problems with my EFIS or EMS - after 8 yrs and 640+ hrs, they seem bulletproof!

8 yrs, man that's good to know that they are reliable. I'm just not so sure I want to go all glass and have no backups.
