Winterizing CH750

Hi all,

Looking for suggestions to block the draft from door hinge, -22 here last night and am starting to feel it. I have gone through the Hardware stores but havent found anything that seems to work.

You didn't mention which model Zenith you have (readers in the Open Forum don't have a clue unless you tell them) and I don't know if the hinge varies on the different models and different doors, but my 750 STOL's fiberglass door's hinge is riveted to the underside of the top of the door frame.  When closed, the hinge left a series of holes exposed on the lower leaf of the hinge.  I stuck a piece of self-adhesive weather strip in a "P" profile across the lower leaf of the hinge, covering the holes.  (You can get it in the aviation department at Lowe's. LOL!)  When the door closes, the bulb at the top of the "P" seals against the upper leaf of the hinge on the underside of the frame.  Click on the picture below to enlarge it, and you can see the white weather strip at the top of the door:

Let us know how John's Tennessee solution works in Canada. Then the rest of us Tennessee folks can adopt it after you test it in the frozen tundra.

Or you could move to Florida.

And for everyone else, Glen does have a 750 STOL.
