For those who have capped off the bottom fuel tank vent on the Cruzer...

After operating for a while; have you found it to be the right move or the wrong move?

For reference, I am planning a Viking engine. Capping off the bottom vent and installing a vent on the fuel cap.

I have had no problems with doing that on my cruzer with the Viking engine. Fuel still sloshes out the top vent, but probably much less than it used to from the bottom.

Hi Kip,

See the photos of a top vent in the fuel cap that I just posted on 5/09 and plug on the original bottom of the wing vent. It seems to solve the problem for my Zodiac 650B with Viking 110. Taxi testing prior to inspection.

I capped off the bottom fuel tank vent, but instead of placing one in the cap, I placed a tee in the vent line in the outer end of the fuel tank where the header tank return comes in and placed the vent through the top skin.  Now any sloshing would need to come through the small vent line and any fuel that does would first run down the vent line toward the header tank.
